TINSUKIA: A garden manager of Raidang Tea Estate in Doomdooma was attacked and his official car was set on fire inside the garden by unidentified miscreants on Monday evening. According to Doomdooma police, some miscreants pelted stones at the gypsy car (As 23D 2812) of garden manager Jagjit Singh Floree during his routine visit at Section-31 of Hansara Division. Sensing danger, the manager got off from the vehicle after it failed to start and ran behind tea bushes. The miscreants set his vehicle on fire which was completely gutted. Later police rescued the manager.

Aftermath of this incident, hundreds of labourers blocked the NH 37 at Hansara Chariali demanding safety and security of garden officials. Reacting to the bizarre incident, Assam Chah Janajati Chatra Santha said that this was the 3rd consecutive attack on the manager alleging that though complaints were lodged previously no action was initiated against the miscreants either by police or civil administration and submitted a memorandum to the administration on Tuesday.
