Guwahati: A group of Assam TET aspirants staged a protest and gheraoed the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) office, on Tuesday.

The protesters condemned the Assam government's decision to give the authority to SEBA to hold the state Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET).

The protesters also condemned State Education Minister Ranuj Pegu and shouted slogans against him.

"We all know that once cows ate Assam HSLC answer scripts. Despite that, the Assam government handed over the authority to SEBA to hold TET. The SEBA lacks merit", said a protester.

The protesters also demanded the interference of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on the issue.

"We are aware of the fact that Education Minister Pegu lacks qualities. As such, we demand steps from the Chief Minister who proved his efficiency,'' said another protester.
