Teachers’ training programme held at Shiksha Bhawan, Haflong

HAFLONG: A teachers’ training for the 31st National Children’s Science Congress was held at Shiksha Bhawan, Haflong on Monday. The National Children’s Science Congress is a prestigious initiative under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, aiming to promote scientific temperament and innovation among children. In Dima Hasao district, the event was jointly organized by the Dawn of Tomorrow Society and Blue Hills Society in collaboration with the Department of Education, Dima Hasao.

The training programme commenced with a welcome speech by Joshringdao Phonglo, president of the District Organizing Committee for NCSC Dima Hasao.

Ramesh Kemprai, Block Mission Coordinator for Harangajao Block, Nitiraj Thaosen, Block Mission Coordinator for New Sangbar Block and Gayatri Naiding, Inspector of Schools addressing the programme gave an inspiring speech and shared their insights through an enlightening address.

Following the inaugural session, the training entered the technical session where Ronit Dey, District Academic Coordinator for NCSC, initiated the session by explaining the year’s focal theme, “Understanding Ecosystem for Health and Well-being.”

Resource Persons Shreejana Thapa and Uday Nirola, provided detail explanations of the five sub-themes associated with the focal theme. The session also included vibrant discussions and brainstorming exercises, fostering an environment of interactive learning.

The training garnered participation from science teachers representing Upper Primary, High and Higher Secondary Schools in the greater Haflong area. The teachers were urged to prepare their students for the district-level meet scheduled to be held in the last week of September next. The District Level Guide Teacher’s Training served as a crucial platform to equip educators with the necessary tools and knowledge to guide young minds in the field of science by fostering an understanding of ecosystems for health and well-being.
