Teok: Chandra Kamal Bezbaruah College of Teok in Assam is just like any other college across the state or the country. But it is also different from the other colleges. It is not just teaching Physics, Chemistry, English, and other subjects like any other college. It is also teaching its students to till the land and maintain a pig or a cattle farm.

The college has been pursuing these different courses since 2016.

The college has been providing practical training to the students who are interested in agricultural work by raising fish, ducks, pigs, goats, cattle, and calligraphy, on the college campus. It also has a pig farm and plantations.

The principal of the college said," We have taken an initiative for the development of the college, and for that, we have introduced many programs so that students of this college learn vocational education as well along with academic education. Our primary aim is making them self-reliant after they pass out."

"There are 105 bighas of land around the college campus and depending on this land we have taken this initiative. We have three fisheries, over 50 goats, and 50 pigs. We have introduced more than 6 diploma courses such are Electrician, Beautician and skincare, Retail management, DTP, Horticulture, etc. Last year we have earned more than 1 lakh from the fisheries, and around 1.5 lakh from the pig farm. We hope in future we could earn enough revenue from this which would help in the development of the college as well as students." A professor of the college said.
