TEZPUR: A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Member of Parliament, Tezpur HPC, Pallab Lochan Das and chairman of the DISHA committee.

Presiding over the meeting, Member of Parliament, Tezpur HPC, Pallab Lochan Das reviewed the implementation of all the centrally sponsored schemes along with various State Government schemes and other development projects being implemented in the district in the presence of MLA of Borsola, Ganesh Limboo, MLA of Tezpur LAC, Prithiraj Rava, MLA of Rangapara, Krishna Kamal Tanti, Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Diganta Baishya, chairperson, Sonitpur Zilla Parishad, Dolly Surin, heads of various departments, Panchayat representatives and other senior district administration officials.

The MP reviewed all schemes related to employment generation, welfare-related schemes and those being implemented by various line departments separately. Taking a detailed review of various schemes under the Panchayat and Rural Development department such as the implementation of PMAY-G in the district, block-wise physical progress of schemes under 14th Finance Commission, schemes taken under 15th Finance Commission, the MP pulled up the BDOs of blocks where a lot of schemes were still incomplete. He directed all officials concerned to identify the chief causes behind the delay in implementation and ensure that poor beneficiaries do not suffer due to administrative lapses. He also asked the Chief Executive Officer to fix a timeline for completion of these projects in consultation with the respective MLAs and fix responsibility in case of non-performance. He also directed the Inspector of Schools to collect a detailed list of all government and provincialized schools having poor infrastructure from respective BEEOs so that projects can be taken up under 15th FC for improving the infrastructure.

MP Pallab Lochan Das also reviewed the reverification process of PM-KISAN beneficiaries and asked the Agriculture department officials to take necessary steps to increase the paddy procurement from farmers of the district. Reviewing the various schemes related to employment generation, the MP laid special emphasis on providing alternate sources of income for women in tea garden areas who were earlier involved in illegal liquor making, to pave the way for social reforms in TG areas. He also asked the officials concerned to carry out a market survey for requirement of goods, and give necessary support to the SHGs to produce and market these goods.

Reviewing the Poshan Abhiyan underway in the district, the MP asked the Social Welfare department officials to intensify the drive against malnutrition. He also directed the Food and Civil Supplies department to urgently carry out the seeding of Aadhaar with NFSA cards and remove all discrepancies so that the poor people are able to receive the free food grains given by the government under the NFSA, 2013.

MP Pallab Lochan Das discussed the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission under PHE department and asked the officials to ensure use of good quality construction material and early completion of FHTCs in the district. The MP directed all heads of various departments to expedite the execution of all schemes and to ensure early completion of all targets.
