Tezpur: The quarterly meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) was held in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Thursday. Member of Parliament, Pallab Lochan Das and Chairman of the DISHA committee presided over the meeting and reviewed the implementation of all the Centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in the district in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh, MLA Sootea LAC, Padma Hazarika, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Diganta Baishya, District Development Commissioner Farouk Alam, Chairperson, Sonitpur Zilla Parishad, Dolly Surin, heads of various departments and other senior district administration officials.
Reviewing the various schemes related to employment generation, the MP directed the departments concerned to take up training activities by assessing the requirement of the community and ensure livelihood generation of skilled persons. Instructing the officials concerned to finish distributing Revolving Funds to all eligible self help groups (SHGs) at the earliest, the MP laid special emphasis on carrying out a market survey for requirement of goods, and give necessary support to the SHGs to produce and market these goods, in order to bring about economic sustainability.
He also directed the officials of Agriculture and other allied departments to conduct more training for the farmers so that they can benefit from them and asked the officials to seek practical solutions to the problems being faced by farmers. He directed all department officials to play an active role by supporting income generation activities with stress on maximum output from such activities.
He also directed bank officials and departmental officials to improve the number of sponsorships under various government-sponsored schemes to unemployed youth and roll out benefits of various social security schemes launched by the Government of India.
Das discussed the implementation of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, where he laid stress on developing model villages and ensuring there are no gaps in the implementation of various government schemes in the selected villages.
Reviewing the various stages of scheme implementation, the MP directed all officials to expedite the execution of these schemes and to ensure early completion of all targets. In addition, he asked the Deputy Commissioner to periodically review the implementation of various schemes under the 14th Finance Commission. He also directed the Panchayat representatives to be more active and asked them to create awareness about various welfare schemes of the Government.
Progress of MGNREGA, IAY, PMAY-G, DDU-GKY, NRLM, PMGSY, NSAP, SBM-G, among others were discussed in the meeting.
