Tezpur University faculty gets Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry Award

TEZPUR: Prof. Dhanapati Deka, Department of Energy, and Dean, Research and Development, Tezpur University has been awarded Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) by the Royal Society of Chemistry, London in recognition to his close association to Chemistry related research works.

The Royal Society of Chemistry, founded in 1841, is one of the oldest and most respected chemical societies in the world, dedicated to advancing the chemical sciences and supporting chemical researchers in their pursuits. Prof. Deka has been associated with Tezpur University for the last 29 years and serving the university in various senior positions. He has published 75 peer reviewed research articles in high impact international journals where most of his research papers have impact factors more than 8. He is involved in multi-disciplinary research activities in Tezpur University by collaborating his research works with other departments. A life member of various credible scientific societies in India and abroad, Dr. Deka is credited with receiving good numbers of awards /distinctions from different recognized bodies, such as INSA visiting fellowship award, Visiting scientist award etc. The Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University, Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh expressed his delight at the announcement, stating, “We are proud of Dr. Deka’s receiving of the FRSC award. This honour reflects not only his dedication and passion for research but also the conducive and supportive research environment that Tezpur University fosters.”
