TEZPUR: Tezpur University organized a counseling session on academic issues of high school students of Napaam village at Madhavdev Shishu Niketan, Napaam, (under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan a flagship programme of Ministry of Education, Government of India). Prof. Debendra Chandra Baruah, (Coordinator of UBA-TU), Dr. Sanghamitra Das (Faculty Village Coordinator), Dr. Pratibha Deka (Faculty Village Coordinator) were present on the occasion along with student volunteers Abhay Kumar, Akash Raj, Juganta Jyoti Hazarika, Himanta Gogoi and Piyush Sharma from Tezpur University.

The programme began with the address of Prof. Debendra Chandra Baruah to students regarding the instrumentality of education to empower oneself. He also discussed different strategies which students can utilize to deal with stress due to examination. He motivated the students to aspire for further education to have a bright future. This was followed by an interactive session by student volunteers of Tezpur University to address various academic issues of students. The session attempted at helping secondary level students deal with various issues related to the upcoming HSLC examination.

Various strategies of time management were discussed with school students which they found very useful to prepare in the limited time available for the exam. Students were also apprised about how to go through the syllabus which was changed due to COVID-19. Discussion regarding dealing with question patterns of the respective subject, marking system and difficulty level was also covered. The session could motivate students which was visible as many students raised questions related to their specific subject and other issues as well. The session also covered discussion on how to choose a course/stream after 10th according to their aim in life in terms of career choices. At the end, a feedback session was held where students shared their views regarding the usefulness of the session.
