The SPs In Charge Of The Assam CM’s Security Have Been Reassigned

GUWAHATI: In a significant step, the three Superintendents of Police (SPs) in charge of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's security have all been transferred.

Utpal Bayan, who formerly worked for the Assam CM as the SP (security-I), has been promoted to the position of SP of the special branch (security).

He will take Mantu Thakuria's place, who was transferred and posted to the Assam CM as SP (security-I).

An order issued by the Home (A) department stated, “Utpal Bayan, Superintendent of Police (Security – I) to Chief Minister, Assam is transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Special Branch (Security), Suman Chakraborty, Superintendent of Police (Security – III) to Chief Minister, Assam is transferred and posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police (AP), Assam with immediate effect.”

The order further stated, “Mantu Thakuria, Superintendent of Police, Special Branch (Security) has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (Security – I) to Chief Minister, Assam, and Jayanta Sarathi Bora, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AP), Assam has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (Security – III) to Chief Minister, Assam,”

On the other hand, Assistant Inspector General Jayanta Sarathi Borah has been promoted and assigned as the new SP (security-III) to the Assam Chief Minister.

A separate order issued by the Home (A) said, “Gunendra Deka, Superintendent of Police (Security – II) to Chief Minister, Assam is transferred and posted as Commandant, 11th APBn, Dergaon and Tabu Ram Pegu, Commandant of 11th APBn has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police (Security – II) to Chief Minister, Assam.”

Suman Chakraborty, who is moving into the role that Borah formerly held, will be replaced by him.

As of right now, Gunendra Deka, the Assam CM's SP (security-II), has been promoted to commandant of the 11th APBn in Dergaon.

The position of commandant of the 11 APBn, Dergaon, Tabu Ram Pegu, who is being moved, will take his place.
