HAFLONG: As the third phase of Gunotsav in Assam began, Dima Hasao also conducted the first day of the three-day evaluation programme successfully covering a total of 310 schools on Thursday. Gunotsav, is an initiative of the State Government that focuses mainly on assessment of learning outcomes of children for identifying learning gaps and subsequently designing remedial measures for improvement.

857 schools across the district are to be evaluated involving 344 external evaluators that include CEM, EMs, IPS, ACS and APS officers and all officers of all ranks from various departments.

While 310 are scheduled for the second day, the third or the final day, 237 schools will be evaluated. Evaluation of the LP, ME and High Schools will be covered during this exercise designed for qualitative improvement of Primary Education which includes learning outcomes of children as well as co-scholastic activities use of resources and community participations as a whole.

All the government, provincialized, tea garden management schools of elementary and secondary level are being evaluated for four consecutive days as a part of the Phase three of Assam Gunotsav 2023 programme. Grading are done in a manner in which 90% will be marked for scholastic, 5% for co-scholastic, 5% for community participation. Infrastructure will not be considered for grading of the school.

In Dima Hasao, Guardian Minister of the district and Assam Minister for Revenue & Disaster Management, Hills Area Development etc Jogen Mohan also took part in this exercise and evaluated Purana Maibang Lower Primary School (LPS). CEM Dima Hasao Debolal Gorlosa visited Hajaipur LPS on Thursday whereas Principal Secretary Thai Tso Daulagupu visited Hagjer Nagar AC LPS, DC Dima Hasao Simanta Kr. Das visited Longmang AC LPS, Superintendent of Police Mayank Kumar evaluated Lower Haflong High School. The programme will be completed on February 18.
