KALAIGAON: Bodoland People's Front (BPF) president Hagrama Mohilary took part in an election campaign for BPF candidate Durga Das Boro for Kalaigaon Legislative Assembly Constituency, in the premises of Kalaigaon College playground on Friday.
The meeting was organized by the Mudaibari Block Committee of BPF. Addressing a mass gathering of over 8,000 people at Kalaigaon College playground at Kalaigaon in Udalguri district on Friday, Mohilary said that this time the government would change in Dispur. The people of Assam would eliminate the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance government from Dispur and bring a Congress (I)-led alliance government to power.
Mohilary also said, "Minister and BJP leader Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma Sarma is not only trying to create a clash between Bodo and non-Bodo people of BTR but he is also conspiring to destroy the Bodo community. He wants to take political benefit from this clash."
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Apurba Bhattacharjee appealed to the people to vote for BPF candidate Durga Das Boro so that the Congress-led grand alliance could form the government in Dispur and build a secular environment in Assam. Several prominent leaders were present like BPF leader and MLA Maheshwar Baro, former BTC EM Jagadish Sarkar and Lumchrau Daimari.
