Three Central Assam Districts Prepared Roadmap to tackle the flood Situation in State

NAGAON: Three central Assam districts of Assam – Nagaon, Morigaon and Hojai – have prepared a roadmap for facing any adverse climatic situation during the upcoming monsoon season. The administration of the three districts on Thursday held separate meetings in their district headquarters with the line departments to discuss their strategy.

"A large part of Hojai district faces severe flood situation every year, especially because of the rivers flowing from the neighbouring hilly districts. We ask all line departments for timely cooperation so that we can face any unwanted situation at any cost," said an official of Hojai administration.

Nagaon Deputy Commissioner Kavitha Padmanavan on Thursday asked all government officials to render all possible departmental support so that the flood situation could be smoothly tackled in the midst of the COVID crisis. "We hope our new strategy will help us to work better this year," Padmanavan said.
