Numaligarh: The three-day-long 17th Adivasi Mahasabha organized by All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA), concluded here at Rangajan in Golaghat district of Assam on Sunday.

The theme of the event was, ‘To dispel the darkness and ignorance through education among the Adivasis of Assam’. The event started on March 13 with a series of programmes. The Adivasi Mahasabha flag was hoisted by Sarupathar MLA and president of the reception committee, Roselina Tirkey. AASAA flag and district committee flags were hoisted by AASAA president Stephen Lakra and district committee presidents/ secretaries. Homage to martyrs was paid by AASAA general secretary Deben Urang. The programme of first day concluded with inaugural session and three other sessions later in the day. The topic of the first session was, ‘Right to education Act,2009 vis-à-vis Adivasis of Assam’.
