Three-day workshop on assessment fundamentals concludes in Hailakandi

Hailakandi: A three-day Capacity Building Workshop on Understanding the Fundamentals of Assessment concluded here on Wednesday. Organized by Piramal Foundation, 17 Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (CRCCs) and five lecturers of DIET, Hailakandi was trained in the workshop.

“Assessment is a process that helps focus our attention on what matters the most in education. The quality of assessments designed and conducted is directly related to the quality of instructional practices within the classroom,” said Program Leader, Piramal Foundation, Sadasiva Reddy.

In the quest to improve the quality of education, an effective and comprehensive assessment system enables teachers, officials, educators, and policymakers to make informed choices by seeking how well students are learning.

Reddy said the participants were made to understand on topics as to what assessment is in the context of national and global context; assessment recommendations by education policies; types of assessment and objectives; bloom taxonomy; blueprint framework; the test item and principles of designing a good test item; misconception in the assessment results and on principles and skills required for data collection.

Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli, who graced the occasion on a concluding day, asked the participants about what would be actionable after the workshop. The participants presented the future actionable such as the block-level orientation of CRCCs and other Block Academic Core Group (BACG) members in association with DIET faculty.
