3 Drug Smugglers Arrested in Darrang District

MANGALDAI: In the continuing drive against drug peddlers in Darrang district and close on the heels of the arrest of three drugs peddlers along with 10 kg of contraband ganja, Darrang Police on Friday morning arrested three more illegal traders of ganja and recovered 6 kg ganja from their possession.

Following the confessional statement of the three smugglers arrested in connection with Kharupetia Police Station case no. 224/21 under section 20 (b) of NDPS Act, Darrang Police, under the instruction of Superintendent of Police Sushanta Biswa Sarma, arrested three notorious smugglers, namely Habibur Rahman, son of Saha Ali of village Borigaon, Mukut Boro, son of Megu Boro of village Batabari, and Ainul Haque, son of Suruj Jamal of village Kunakata, all under of Dalgaon Police Station. Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) Pranjal Bora and Officer in-charge of Kharupetia Police Station, Sub-Inspector Abhijit Kakoti led the successful drive.
