Three gamblers arrested by Doomdooma Police

DOOMDOOMA: Three gamblers were caught red handed by Doomdooma Police on Friday and a case was registered against them (Case No 476/21 U/s 14/15 Assam Gambling and Betting Act). They are Horen Das, Kiran Lohar and MD Hafijur Rohman.

In the past Doomdooma Police had made several successful attempts vigorously in apprehending the drug peddlers. They also picked up many land brokers of the locality as per directive of the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

However, so far as drug peddlers or illicit liquor sellers are concerned, they reappear in the scene after some time once the dust settles down. People, therefore believe that without tacit support of the Police and excise department personnel such menaca to the society cannot go on in such an unabated manner.
