HAFLONG: Assam Power Minister Nandita Gorlosa inaugurated three model anganwadi centres at Kelelo, Pangmoul and Nrimbanglo villages in Dima Hasao on Saturday. The inaugural ceremony was attended by NCHAC MACs, Fleming Rupsi, N. Lienthang, DC Nazreen Ahmed, Asst. commissioner Ibon Teron and officials from the Social Welfare Department, Dima Hasao.
With the inauguration of these centres in these villages, the district has got such state of arts model anganwadi centre for the first time. Gaon buras and villagers have expressed their happiness and offered their heartfelt thanks to the minister and Deputy Commissioner.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Gorlosa said that the centres have been sanctioned by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for the district under financial year 2022-2023 for 16 Haflong LAC. She also informed that another 22 anganwadi centres will be allotted for the district very soon.
"Due to natural calamities, our district was badly affected, we were unable to complete in time. But hopefully, these centres will be a new hope for our children and upcoming generation," Gorlosa added.
Minister instructed the departmental officials to provide all the facilities which are earmarked by the government for the benefit of the children. Gorlosa also appealed the villagers to look after the centres as their own since it will benefit the village itself. MAC N Lienthang said such schemes under MLA funds have been implemented in his constituency for the first time since 1952. Gaonbura of Pangmoul village T. Lienthang appreciating the minister and officials said that the centre would surely bring interest among children for education since the centres are equipped with modern learning equipment and provide nutritious meal.
