Three notorious bike lifters nabbed by Darrang Police with two stolen new bikes

Mangaldai: In a breakthrough, Darrang Police nabbed three of a notorious bike lifters’ gang on Sunday night and recovered two stolen new bikes from their possession.

A police team of Mangaldai Police Station following the direction of Superintendent of Police, Amrit Bhuyan raided the house and residence of Mithun Boro at Dolonghat and managed to recover a stolen brand new motorbike. On the basis of his confession, two other members of the gang, Bipul Sarma of Sarabari and Ajit Deka of Bezpara, were nabbed along with another stolen bike.

The arrested Bipul Sarma had earlier been put behind the bars on several occasions. The interrogation of the arrested criminals is still on to acquire more information. The gang has recently made Darrang Police pass sleepless nights as several bikes have been lifted from public places of the district, including banks, financial and educational institutions.
