BONGAIGAON: Three police personnel were arrested by Bongaigaon Police on Thursday night on corruption charges. All three were taken under police custody. The three police personnel of Gerukabari police outpost, including IC Pritam Das, UG Constable Zamir Ali and ex homeguard Shahabuddin, were arrested on Thursday night.

Talking to media persons in this regard, Pankaj Kumar Kakati, Additional SP, Bongaigaon, said, "On September 30, we received information that four ATM hackers were coming from Barpeta to Bongaigaon in a car. All four were nabbed at the police check post of Gerukabari outpost. But we received information that all four were released by these police personnel in exchange of money. We then started a departmental inquiry in this regard and after inquiry, the three police personnel were arrested last night. A case in Manikpur PS (case no 390/220 under section 120B, 384) has been registered and legal procedure against them has started."
