Three sand-laden trucks seized in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: On the direction of the DFO, Sonitpur West Forest Division, Nripendra Nath Kalita, a successful operation was carried out by a team of forest department under Sonitpur West Forest division led by Range officer of Tezpur Sadar Range, Mrinal Jyoti Medhi. Three trucks laden with sand were seized.

Range officer Mrinal Jyoti Medhi informed that the trucks bearing registration numbers RJ 07 GD 6808, AS 12 BC 5415 and AS 09 AC 6376 were seized from Bhojkha Chapari, Borghat and Paruwa area in Sonitpur district for violation of the Assam Minor Mineral Concession Rule 64. These trucks were running without valid TP and challan for supplying minor minerals. Mrinal Jyoti Medhi said that the operation against illegal mining would continue.
