Three tests COVID-19 positive in Jagiroad

JAGIROAD: Three COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Jagiroad. Kushal Saikia, a Grade IV staff of Boha Barjhari PHC, and Ashutosh Biswas of Manipur Bishnu Rabha quarantine centre tested positive for COVID-19. Kushal Saikia did not have any travel history. This has created panic among the people as despite repeated instructions, many people are still not wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. On the other hand, Hemanta Deka, area manager of North East Small Finance Bank Ltd, Beltola branch also tested positive. He resides in the rented house of Tapan Sharma at Markankuchi village, Jagiroad. Sources said that one of his colleagues tested positive following which he gave his swab sample at the Jagiroad screening centre on June 25. The health department has sanitized the entire area.
