TINSUKIA: The second wave of thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rain, hailstorm and gusty wind that lashed some parts of Tinsukia district had caused extensive damage to dwelling houses and standing crops on Sunday evening. Several houses were flattened in Guijan, Natungaon under Tinsukia revenue circle and Bheel line in Baghjan Tea Estate under Doomdooma revenue circle. While Adivasi Students’ Union alleged that none from the district authority and disaster department visited the affected areas under Tinsukia revenue circle, ATTSA leaders who along with revenue circle officials visited Baghjan and nearby affected areas demanded immediate compensation, ration and rehabilitation.
