TINSUKIA : Tinsukia Civil Hospital bagged prestigious MusQan Award after it achieved 92% in the assessment of 4 departments and met all the health criteria which declared the hospital quality certified. The hospital underwent National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) external assessment by empanelled NQAS external assessors Dr Laishram Gojendra Singh and Maneesh Kumar Tripathi from National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) New Delhi on September 11 and September 12.

Under MusQan, a multi-prolonged strategy has been adopted for ensuring the gaps in the SNCUs, NBSUs, Postnatal wards, Paediatric, OPD and Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre against the quality standards traversed within the shortest possible time and visible in quality care services. It is designed to ensure provision of quality child friendly services from birth to children upto 12 years of age. Further, the programme aims to ensure provision of quality child friendly services in public health facilities to reduce preventable newborn and child morbidity and mortality. It encompasses all the pivotal aspects of child growth and development, including the child’s physical, mental and social development. In addition, MusQan initiative intends to achieve an explicit improvement in the quality of childcare services in public facilities of India.

Under the guidance of District Commissioner Swapneel Paul and ADC Health Chinmoy Pathak, a team of health officials led by Dr Mridul Gogoi, Superintendent Tinsukia Civil Hospital and Dr Bornali Dutta Borah SDH&MO(Hq), the Hospital has achieved the honour.
