TINSUKIA: Tinsukia College organised an anti-drug awareness campaign in synch with World Cancer Day on Friday. The programme was organised at the joint initiative of the NSS and NCC unit of the College with an objective to understand the relationship between cancer and illicit drug consumption / addiction. Dr Kamalesh Kalita, the programme officer of the college NSS unit explained the importance of the Anti-Drug Awareness programme in relation to the incidence of cancer who also acted as a resource person. Dr. Surya Chutia, principal of the college also spoke on the occasion. Dwimo Basumatary, the teacher-in-charge of the college NCC unit and Boikuntha Das of political science department also deliberated. The campaign was attended mostly by NSS and NCC cadets of the college and the boarders of college girl's hostel. The campaign concluded with an oath, 'say no to drugs' which was being administered to students.
