TINSUKIA: An ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh was awarded to Dipali Hajong, the bereaved mother of Suraj Hajong who was killed in a grenade blast on May 11 near Kotha Adarsha Gaon under Jagun PS of Margherita subdivision on Thursday by Tinsukia district administration. Samprity Goswami, ADC i/c Margherita, accompanied by S. Chutia, Circle Officer, Margherita, Ananda Kumar Sharma, MLA representative, and Bhabesh Dutta, social worker, handed over the cheque to the grieving mother, stated Gurmeet Kaur Suri, SDIPRO Margherita in a press release.

The deceased was only 14 year old and incident happened when he was walking towards the Buridehing River at around 8.30 am for bathing. He was rushed to the Margherita Civil Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
