TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia District Journalists’ Association (TDJA), on the first day of Bihu, felicitated 33 leading citizens in the district. The presidents and secretaries of the seven press clubs-Margherita, Digboi, Tinsukia, Doomdooma, Saikhowa, Sadiya and Kakopathar - visited the residences of these revered persons in their respective areas and extended felicitation and Bihu greetings with citation and phulam gamosa. The personalities are Atul Borah, Bhanu Chakraborty, Dr Enu Mahanta Kalita, Lilanath Sharma, Dr Apurba Kumar Sharma, Dr Dipali Borpuzari, Sadhan Gogoi, Molina Choudhury of Margherita; Anil Chandra Saikia, Punaram Saikia, Padmakanta Mahanta, Dupori Phukan, Ranee Dhanowar, Ananda Dutta of Digboi; Abdul Rouf, Parul Sarma, Gugadananda Dev Goswami of Tinsukia; Dr Prafulla Medhi, Ujjal Saikia, Golok Deka of Doomdooma; Prafulla Mishra, Sukhidhar Sonowal, Debeswar Moran and Kailash Sharma of Saikhowa; Bina Borkakoty, Srikumar Dohutia, Surendra Nath Dohutia and Ronidhar Deka of Kakopathar; Gunin Chetia, Bhagwati Sharma, Md Safikul Ahmed, Dil Bahadur Khyetri and Deepali Chabukdhara of Sadiya.
