Tinsukia District Journalists’ Association to Confer Rural Journalism Award

TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia District Journalists’ Association (TDJA) in its executive meeting held at Doomdooma Press Club on Thursday decided to confer Rama Kanta Dutta Memorial Rural Journalism Award to a dedicated rural journalist of the district.

The award instituted by Ranjit Dutta, a senior journalist of the district in memory of his father who was lecturer of Physics in Tinsukia College will carry citation and cash of Rs 5000 annually. The meeting chaired by Dr. Rishi Das president of TDJA also resolved to postpone the 45th mid-term annual conference to be held at Doomdooma from February 16 to March 15 in view of present socio-political situation in the state. The meeting felicitated newly elected president of Tinsukia district committee of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) Arjun Baruah who is also a former president of TDJA and Bogen Gogoi, president of Sadiya Press Club and recipient of Choutrish Chandra Borah Memorial Rural Journalism Award.
