Tinsukia District Transport Department organized Road Safety Month

TINSUKIA: The inaugural ceremony of the month-long Road Safety Month organized by Tinsukia District Transport Department was held on Wednesday with hoisting of flag by Monjit Borkakoti, ADC Tinsukia, in presence DTO Bubul Gogoi, enforcement officers and staff of transport department.

Though the Transport Department of the Government of Assam has asked the districts to carry out programme for a week beginning from January 20, the observance of road safety will continue for a month as per directive of the Government of India, said DTO Gogoi. Addressing the media persons later, he said that art competition, women's bike rally, display of audio clip, awareness on wheel at public gatherings and distribution of leaflets will be held across the district while special programmes have been envisaged for under aged drivers, the DTO said.
