Tinsukia Railway Division removes permanent speed restriction

DIGBOI: The Tinsukia Division of the Indian Railways has announced the removal of a Permanent Speed Restriction (PSR) on the Sivasagar Moranhat section near track kilometre 17/0-4. The PSR, which limited train speeds to 75 kmph, was in place due to a curved track approaching bridge, which had a gradient of 1 in 105. This was stated during an official communication to the reporter today.

To remove the Permanent Speed Restriction, the curve has been smoothened by adjusting the track geometry, reducing the curvature and allowing for faster train speeds through that section. Additionally, the bridge has been leveled to ensure that the track is flat and does not have any abrupt changes in gradient. The removal of this PSR is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the engineering team, in this case, the team led by Divisional Engineer Subhankar Roy.

The TSK Division has been actively working to improve track conditions and remove PSRs throughout its network. These efforts have included track renewal, track maintenance, and the installation of advanced signaling and control systems. The removal of this permanent speed restriction is just one example of the TSK Division's commitment to providing safe and efficient rail travel for all.
