Tiwa Autonomous Council completes one year in Morigaon

“The Assam Government should provide full autonomous status to the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) for avoiding economic crisis which the TAC has been facing, and for which development and progress have stopped,” said Dispur MLA Atul Bora while attending the meeting was organized on the occasion of the completion of one year of the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) at Bihutoli ground on Friday.

MORIGAON: "The Assam Government should provide full autonomous status to the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) for avoiding economic crisis which the TAC has been facing, and for which development and progress have stopped," said Dispur MLA Atul Bora while attending the meeting was organized on the occasion of the completion of one year of the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) at Bihutoli ground on Friday.

The TAC, led by CEM Jiban Konwar, was formed on January 6, 2020 with an aim to develop the Tiwa community which completed one year successfully. Earlier, a felicitation programme was held which was conducted by the EM of TAC, Khagen Ch. Bordoloi. The CEM, EMs and members of the TAC were felicitated with a traditional Tiwa gamusa 'Tagla' in the meeting. The youths of Tiwa community performed traditional Tiwa dance in the programme. More than 500 Tiwa people took part in the meeting.
