Morigaon: Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) got Tiwa Jatiya Eaikya Moncha as an allied power immediately after the alliance party joined with the Bharatiya Janata Party in a huge public meeting held at Morigaon school field on Friday. In presence of Assam Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Ranjit Das, Angurlata, Phani Sarma, the Tiwa Jatiya Eaikya Moncha led by Ramakanta Deuri Chairman, Fish-Fed and MLA today united with BJP to work for the state.
Attending as the chief guest Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that this unity would strengthen the BJP in middle Assam like Morigaon, Jagiroad, Batradrava, Laharighat and Raha. “Our party will get faithful and active leaders through the unity and promise to work for the Tiwa people”, he added. He even assured the people of Assam to have faith in the party regarding publishing of final draft of NRC. He also assured all not to worry even if names of indigenous people were excluded from the final draft of the NRC. Earlier the minister was felicited with traditional dresses of Tiwa community in the public meeting.
