GUWAHATI: 'Assam needs to acquire a new work culture to end dependency on others' said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Assam CM said that Assam is lagging behind in many fields and so we are dependent on other states for our livelihood which is basically turning our culture down as compared to others.

In view of this Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Assam citizens need to modify their thoughts and way of life in order to adopt a new work culture which will definitely put an end to dependency on other states. There is a need to develop the working mentality of people in order to take Assam to a great extent.

Further, the Chief Minister feels very pleased to mention that many consumer items in Assam for instance eggs have to be still acquired from outside which definitely brings downfall to the state's gross domestic product.

He exclaimed that now the time has arrived to acquire a new work culture methods where women at the centre can play a crucial role in the community by taking an interest in some productive activities and also women are smart enough to encourage others in this field.

He added, he will distribute cheques among women in Tinsukia under the Assam Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme on Friday evening.

Besides Tinsukia, he said that already steps have been sanctioned and ratified to provide financial incentives to some districts such as Darang, Hojai, Nalbari, Nagaon, Lakhimpur, Karimganj, Goalpara, Nagaon, Barpeta, Hailakandi and Marigaon under the scheme called Assam Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme.

Not only this he will also initiate some schemes to provide citizen-friendly services to people digitally in a phased manner and also he will initiate a programme for people who are not able to repay loans.
