Torchlight procession banned in Sonitpur

TEZPUR: Anticipating occurrence of law-and-order situation due to group clashes and communal disturbance in the district, the District Magistrate of Sonitpur, Manvendra Pratap Singh has imposed restrictions on carrying out of torchlight (mashaal) processions in the district U/S 144/144-A CrPC. The order will come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force until further order.
