Torchlight rally by Tiwa bodies in Morigaon

MORIGAON: In protest against non-reservation of a single constituency for Scheduled Tribes (ST) in central Assam, around 500 protesters under the banner of All Tiwa Students’ Union (ATSU), Tiwa Yuba Chatra Parishad (TYCP), Tiwa Mahila Society (TMS) and All Tiwa Protection Committee (ATPC) took out a torchlight rally across the town on Saturday night. The torchlight rally was taken out to demand the government to reserve the 80 no. Morigaon constituency for ST.
