Kaziranga: UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve is receiving a lot of guests after the park reopened on October 21. The park was closed for almost eight months due to the ongoing pandemic.
Apart from people from across the state, tourists from Mumbai also visited the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve. The authoritoies of the park has made it mandatory for everyone to wear masks, use hand sanitisers, and maintain social distance with others.
The authorities have said that they are following all the protocols of COVID-19. A tourist said that it is mandatory to wear a mask. Not only their hands, but their shoes are also sanitised. The vehicles used for sightseeing of the tourists are also sanitised after every trip.
Kaziranga, which is 194 KM from Guwahati attracts a large number of tourists every year. The tourists are not only from the state or the country but across the world. The main attraction of Kaziranga National Park is the one horned rhino. In the year 1985, the park was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was declared as a Tiger Reserve in the year 2006. According to the census held in 2018, the rhino population of Kaziranga was 2,413.
