Dibrugarh: A meeting revolving around finding solutions to different traffic and parking related problems of the town was held on Saturday at the DC office under the presidentship of Deputy Commissioner Pallab Gopal Jha.

In the meeting, the reasons behind congestion in places such as AMCH road, Phoolbagan, and Thanacharali were discussed in detail. To ensure better traffic control, it was decided to turn the traffic points of Thanacharali, Graham Bazar and Chowkidinghee functional within a very short period of time. Similarly, Jha directed the ADC to issue a letter to all those banquet halls, private nursing homes and shopping malls that did not have parking facilities, ordering the owners to make adequate arrangements for the same. Ways to restrict the movement of heavy vehicles within the town during peak hours were also devised, besides allotting a time slot from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. to the trucks that were into the business of unloading goods in various points of the town. Superintendent of Police Srijith T and ADCs, Ranjit Konwar and Dipu Kumar Deka were also present in the meeting.
