LAKHIMPUR: The training for the presiding officers and polling officers for the upcoming Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council (TKAC) election is underway in Lakhimpur district. The training programme kick-started on Monday at the auditoriums of District Library and Padmanath Gohain Baruah High School located in North Lakhimpur town.

On Monday, training on the electioneering process was conducted on a total of 38 presiding officers and 30 first polling officers. On the other hand, a total of 34 presiding officers and 30 first polling officers underwent due training on Tuesday. Professor Diganta Hatibaruah, Chittaranjan Borah, Durgeswar Borah and Ranjit Paul have taken part as the master trainers of the training programme. The TKAC election will be held on January 20. There are five constituencies of TKAC in Lakhimpur district.
