Training of presiding and polling officers held in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: The first phase training of presiding and polling officers for the upcoming election under Golaghat election district was held on Sunday.

Around 712 presiding and polling officials of 486 voting centres under Golaghat and Khumtai LACs were given training on responsibilities and duties in election. The district administration has arranged the Debraj Roy College, Golaghat Commerce College, HPB Girls' College, Furkating College and DKD College as training centres for training of the officials. During the training period, Deputy Commissioner Bibhash Chandra Modi, Chief Executive Officer of Golaghat Zilla Parishad Abhijit Baruah visited the training centres. The DC asked the polling officials to be aware so that no eligible voters are exempted from casting their votes. He further said that the district administration will keep strict vigil over security arrangements and adequate security would be provided in the all voting centres.
