LAKHIMPUR: A two-day-long training programme on field testing, management and maintenance of Assam Rice Knowledge Bank (RKB) portal was conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lakhimpur under the aegis of Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) on Wednesday and Thursday.

The programme mainly stressed bringing awareness among the participants about the holistic use of this portal so that they could garner maximum benefit out of it. Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Lakhimpur, Dr. Prasanta Kumar Pathak put forwarded an interactive lecture at the inaugural session of the training.

A group of 23 students, five extension functionaries from Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) and two progressive farmers from the district participated in the event. Debahash Buragohain, Project Scientist (APART) and Sourajyoti Baishya, Specialist, Post Harvest Management, IRRI (APART) of Assam Agricultural University extensively described about every component existing in the portal and also encouraged the participants to grab every advantage the portal could impart. Moreover, they held an interactive session with the participants wherein they could earn satisfactory response from them.
