Biswanath Chariali, July 6: A day-long training programme for the small tea growers of the Biswanath district was held on Thursday at Samiran Tea Industry under the aegis of Biswanath District Small Tea Growers’ Association in collaboration with Tea Board and Tokolai Tea Research Institute. Around 200 small tea growers of the district were imparted practical training by the scientists, namely Shantanu Kumar Baruah, Krishna Borah and Biswajit Bordoloi from Toklai Tea Research Institute. Earlier, the inaugural session was chaired by Prabin Hazarika, president of Biswanath District Small Tea Growers’ Association, while the welcome address was delivered by Naren Sharma, proprietor of Samiran Tea Industry. The objectives were explained by Dr Ranjan Gogoi, general secretary of Biswanath District Small Tea Growers’ Association.
