TINSUKIA: A 15-day training programme on 'Self-Financed Agricultural Input Dealers' of Tinsukia district began at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Tinsukia on Tuesday. This 2nd batch of training has been jointly organized by Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat and District Agriculture Department, Tinsukia.
The Sr. Scientist and Head (i/c) of KVK, Gayatri D Bhuyan welcomed all the guest and participants for the inaugural session and briefed them about the programme and also emphasized on capacity building of input dealers on efficient handling of the agricultural inputs.
Director of Extension Education, AAU, Jorhat Dr. P. K. Pathak inaugurated the training programme and addressed the participants on importance of training programme on agricultural inputs through virtual mode.
Tapan Neog, DAO of Department of Agriculture, Tinsukia also highlighted about the necessity of such training programmes which will benefit the input dealers. Dr. Bijit Saud Principal Scientist of Citrus Research Station, Tinsukia also suggested the participants for proper implementation of knowledge which they will gain during the training programme in their respective areas and to serve for better growth of farming community.
Dr. Sikha Deka Jr. Scientist of Citrus Research Station, Tinsukia also attended the programme and advised the participants to acquire proper knowledge on plant protection chemicals in the training programme. The inaugural session was led by Dr. Sarodee Baruah Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection) and the programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Kripal Borah, Subject Matter Specialist (Soil Science).
