UDALGURI: A translated book on Sankardeva was released at a function held at Golmagaon High School.
The original book, Sarvagunakar Sankardeva in Assamese was written by Thaneswar Malakar, retired Commissioner. It has been translated into Nepali by Bishnu Sarma Neupane, the literary pensioner of Udalguri. The translated book titled Sarva Guna Sampanna Sankardeva was released at a function organized by Udalguri Sakha Samiti of Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha (ANSS) by noted writer Tarapati Upadhyaya.
The meeting was organized to commemorate Nepali Mahakavi, Laxmi Prasad Devkota. Tarapati Upadhyaya lit a lamp before the replica of Laxmi Prasad Devkota in the beginning of the programme. Floral tribute was paid by Mahakavi Bidyapati Dahal. Kalpana Chhetry, the president of Udalguri Sakha of ANSS, presided over the meeting.
Litterateur Lakshman Adhikari delivered a discourse on the life and works of Mahakavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota. Puspadhar Bastola, the Principal of Udalguri H S School, was the distinguished speaker.
