Transport Minister Parimal Suklabaidya attends awareness meet on road safety

JAMUGURIHAT:  Transport Minister Parimal Suklabaidya on Thursday evening attended an awareness programme on road safety at Natya Bhawan, Sootea and addressed a gathering. It is to be mentioned here that the district transport office, Sonitpur and road safety committee, Sonitpur had organized awareness programmes collaboratively in different venues in the district to make people aware of road safety and to pay homage to those who had lost their lives in road accidents as ‘Biswa Smriti Divas’. Minister Suklabaidya reached Sootea as a bike rider and addressed the gathering. Addressing the session, the Transport Minister had made a humble appeal to the commuters to follow five basic rules (Pancha Sutra) of road transport. Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika also attended the programme. After the programme, the minister proceeded to Biswanath Chariali. It is noteworthy that the State government has initiated an awareness drive on road safety from November 19.
