DOOMDOOMA: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Doomdooma College in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Tinsukia celebrated 'Martyr's Day' on the occasion of the 74th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. On this occasion, a cleanliness drive was undertaken at Rupai Siding here by the NCC cadets and NSS volunteers of Doomdooma College along with the volunteers from NYK, Tinsukia.

In the afternoon, a student orientation programme was held on the topic 'Gandhian Perspective and Youth Leadership' at the conference hall of the college. Senior journalist and former secretary of Doomdooma Press Club Abhijit Khataniar who joined as a resource person delivered a speech on the topic. In his speech Khataniar said that Gandhiji's ideals would always be relevant and he urged upon the students to follow the Gandhiji's ideals and engage themselves in the process of nation building which was dreamt by Gandhiji. The event was also addressed by Mukunda Bora, resource person of Nehru Yuva Kendra. Earlier, the Principal of Doomdooma College Dr. Kamaleshwar Kalita delivered the welcome address. The event was moderated by Dr. Pranjit Saikia, Co-ordinator of Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college.
