TEZPUR: Acting on a tip-off, a team of Forest department personnel under the leadership of New Range officer, Mrinal Jyoti Medhi of Tezpur Sadar range forest office under Sonitpur West Forest division, seized two trucks bearing registration number AS 01MC 7725 and AS01JC 9372 laden with sand and stone from Diputa, Panchmile areas under Tezpur Sadar Police Station in Sonitpur district.

While talking to The Sentinel, Range officer, Mrinal Medhi said that the trucks were seized for the violation of Assam Minor Mineral Concession Rule 2013 under Section Rule 64. Medhi further added these trucks were running without Valid TP, Challan and other required documents for supplying minor minerals. Within one month, newly-joined Range officer, Mrinal Jyoti Medhi has seized a total of 22 vehicles carrying illegal minor minerals in Sonitpur district. These trucks were kept under the custody of Tezpur Sadar Range office.
