GOLAGHAT: After the death of journalist Amulya Dutta in a tragic road accident, the Morangi Press Club (MPC) extended a helping hand in order to give safe and security to the family by forming a trust in memory of the journalist. The MPC had also taken several important decisions.
In this regard a meeting was held at ‘Xajal Kutir’ under the presidentship of the principal of Morangi Mahavidyalaya Tapan Chandra Bardoloi where the aim and purpose of the meeting was elaborated by the secretary of MPC Priyandeep Kakoti. In the meeting, Amuly Dutta Memorial Trust was formed under the supervision of Prangdeep Kakoti. The trust account was opened with joint signature of Tapan Chandra Bardoloi and writer Jiten Hazarika.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Shyamal Khetra Gogoi, journalist Hemanta Saikia, Binan Phukan, Minu Gogoi Dutta, former AASU leader Poragjyoti Bora were included as members of the trust. In the meeting, MPC president Hemanta Saikia, assistant secretary Binan Phukan, journalist Sobhitman Bista, Ashim Bora also spoke in the meeting. In the meeting, the Morangi Press Club members have decided to take the educational responsibility of the two daughters of Late Amuly Dutta. A programme every year in memory of Amulya Dutta would be observed. They have also taken a decision of organ donation in case of accidental deaths.
