Two child marriages prevented in Baksa district

TAMULPUR: On receiving a complaint over telephone regarding alleged child marriage in Kumarikata area under Baksa district on Wednesday night, Deputy Commissioner of Baksa informed the Baksa Superintendent of Police so that necessary action could be taken. The Baksa SP ordered Tamulpur Police to stop the child marriage.

Following the order, Tamulpur Police rushed to Darrangamela and Abhaypur villages to the houses of Rajkumar Dey and Kalu Barman respectively under Tamulpur police station and stopped the two child marriages. The parents have been asked to appear before the office of the District Child Protection Officer in Baksa on February 1.
