JAMUGURIHAT: A total of 35 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the Hakama area of Panpur here. The Revenue Circle Officer (attach) of Naduar Revenue Circle, Mantus Chakrabarty visited the containment village and monitored the distribution of food and other items to the families in the containment zone of Thursday.

On the other hand, two people from the greater Jamugurihat areas, Kalia Kalita (85), a resident of Sangiya Major Chowk and Binda Tiwari (45), a resident of Hakama, Panpur died of COVID on Thursday. With this, the tally of COVID deaths during the second wave in Jamugurihat reached 14. On the other hand, Jamuguri police carried out a foot march to make people aware about the deadly virus on Thursday.
