Two COVID patients die in the ICU of FAAMCH, Barpeta

BARPETA: Two COVID-19 positive patients died in the FAAMCH (Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College & Hospital) here on Wednesday.

While one of the casualties is Taijur Rahman (65) of Bhella, Barpeta district; the other deceased is Jyotish Nath of Rauli near the Sarthebari area in Barpeta district.

Both were in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of the hospital.

Meanwhile, 89 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Barpeta taking the tally in the district to 795. It is alarming that such cases are increasing across the district on a daily basis.

A total of 89 new cases were detected on Wednesday while 106 patients have been cured till date. On Wednesday, 20 patients were discharged after recovery. Of the 677 COVID-active cases in the district, four patients were sent to Guwahati for better treatment. Till date, eight persons have died of COVID in the district.
