Two-day training camp on child rights held in Nagaon

With a two-day long programme, the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Right organized a regional-level special training camp on child rights at the auditorium of Nagaon district library from February 2 onwards and the camp was concluded on Thursday here.

NAGAON: With a two-day long programme, the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Right organized a regional-level special training camp on child rights at the auditorium of Nagaon district library from February 2 onwards and the camp was concluded on Thursday here.

The teachers from various schools and other child welfare officers from Nagaon, Hojai, Dima Hasao, West and East Karbi Anglong districts participated in the special training camp. The camp was initiated after lighting the ceremonial light by Dibyajyoti Sarma, adviser to the Commission. Phanindra Bujarborua, member of the Commission, delivered the welcome address.

Chiranjib Kakoti, director of NESPYM, graced the occasion as the resource person on day one where he spoke about the atrocities on children and also about the laws for protection of the rights of children.

On day two, Nirju Dutta Bharali was present in the training camp as another resource person, who spoke about the measures to be taken for protection of child rights by the authorities concerned i.e.school teachers and others. Dipti Mail, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nagaon also graced the occasion on day two as one of the resource persons and spoke about child rights.
